The first V8 Ford was made in 1932 and was a flat head V8 of 221 Cubic Inches, producing 65 H.P.
One of the first production automobile V8s was introduced in the United States in 1914 by Cadillac. Oldsmobile, another division of General Motors, introduced its own V8 engine in 1916. Chevrolet introduced a V8 engine in 1917 Ford introduced the V8 flathead engine in 1932. It was the first independently designed and built V8 engine produced by Ford for mass production. Oldsmobile introduced the V8 overhead valve engine in 1949.

Cadillac first started back in 1902 by Henry Leland. The first vehicle made by Cadillac was in 1915 and it was the 90-degree flathead V8 engine vehicle.
