A very strong gas smell from the exhaust can indicate incomplete combustion of fuel, often due to a rich air-fuel mixture, faulty fuel injectors, or a malfunctioning oxygen sensor. It may also suggest issues with the catalytic converter or exhaust system, which can prevent proper emission filtration.
