I doubt that this problem would be exclusively limited by steering to the left. Grinding noises sounds like you may have a Power Steering pump that is faulty. Check your power steering resivoir for proper fluid level. If you don't know where this is it's kind of hard to explain because there are other things that look similar to it in that part under the hood. This link to a picture of it below might help you. Hope that I could be of help to you. Also you might want to get it looked at by a professional at a car repair shop after you've done all of this stuff. http://www.blauparts.com/assets/audi_fluid_power_steering_reservoir.jpg
Are the breaks worn or have they been recently replaced and could need new rotor. check your wheel bearing as well. turning left puts more stress on the right side of the vehicle, this could cause the grinding noise.
Yes they can make a grinding noise, if they are bad.
Check the steering fluid reservoir - it will probably need topping up - MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT TYPE
It could make a grinding type noise when moving slow. A "whirrr" type whine when moving faster. The grinding noise may change to a clunking noise when turning the wheel. Any of these noises means "fix me now or else."
Normally a rusty rotor would not make a grinding noise. A grinding noise from the brakes usually indicated that the pads or shoes are worn down.
Yes, the differential can make a grinding sound.
lol change your brake pads they make a grinding noise when its time to replace
it could be belt pulley rubbing on the timing belt cover or it could be the berries in the wheel but if its making grinding noise while ilding then def check your pulley make sure it isn't rubbing on anything or it could be the flywheel theres numbers of things to check over for the grinding noise
If the "grinding noise" is present while cornering left and all but disappears when cornering right, my experience* says it's your right rear wheel bearings needing replaced. * My '96 did the exact same thing another thing to check is my exhaust pipe would rub the rear suspension on the passengers side and make an awful noise only when turning left and it would be worse with more weight in the car
it could be a wheel bearing that is bad or it could also be busted belts inside a tire
A grinding noise in the wheel will either be caused by worn brake pads, or a defective wheel bearing. Remove the left front wheel and inspect brake pads. If the brake pads are OK, you will need to remove the caliber and inspect the wheel bearing.
A grinding noise form a wheel is usually caused by a bad wheel bearing.
