Either the reverse switch is defective or out of adjustment.
Both a stuck reverse switch and shorted wiring can be causes for reverse lights to stay on. Under normal circumstances, the reverse lights turn off as soon as the vehicle is shifted out of reverse.
make sure that the parking brake pedal is all the way up, it is a feture that if this is pushed in that the lights will stay off. hope this helps
Reverse light switch failure
The reverse light switch is stuck or defective.
Sounds like the reverse switch is either damaged, or wired backwards... Did you have your clutch done recently?
Cracked electrical wire caused this to my car once.
Reverse switch on trans. is, most-likely, broken or stuck on somehow. You need to check it and/or replace it.
The switch on the transmission is bad. It usually looks like a bolt with two wires going to it. Check a service manual they are easy to replace.
pretty vague, could be worn linkage in your gear box that pushes the switch.
No, it can't but stay posted, by Thursday or Friday I will know the answer. I work at the dealership
The abs and brake lights stay on when there is a blown fuse or when the abs computer detects a malfunction and sets a code.
Check the brake light switch ,on the brake pedal. Might need adjusting.
