I had this problem, and it turned out to be one of the door switches that didn't completely depress when the door closed. They can be slightly adjusted or just put some sort of cap over them, or even tape so they stick out further. Another better more permanent option is to adjust the door latch so the door closes tighter. Pretty easy. If you do this - when the you have the bracket loose put a dab of glue on the bracket and the screw so they stay put - vibration slamming the door etc... All the doors have them (including the hood- though I don't know where that one is) I have 93 300ZX, but this is a pretty universal answer. If this check doesn't solve your problem - it could be you left a light on or there is an associated electrical problem. Renee
sound like you have a bad alternator. it will kill the battery.

To reset the security code on a 1987 Nissan 300ZX, first, locate the vehicle's owner's manual for specific instructions, as the process can vary. Typically, you can reset the code by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes, which may reset the system. If you have the original code, you can re-enter it using the security system's keypad. If you're unable to reset it yourself, consider consulting a professional or visiting a Nissan dealership for assistance.

To unlock a security lock on a Nissan 300ZX, you typically need to use the key fob or key provided with your vehicle. If the key fob is not working, ensure the battery is functional or try using the physical key in the driver's side door. If the vehicle is equipped with a factory security system, you may need to follow specific procedures, such as turning the ignition on and off in a certain sequence. If you're still unable to unlock it, consulting the owner's manual or contacting a professional locksmith or Nissan dealer may be necessary.
