1. You've got a bad battery that refuses to charge.
2. Your alternator, rectifier or voltage regulator is malfunctioning.
3. Your auxiliary belt, serpentine belt or fan belt is broken.
4. There is a short circuit somewhere that drains the battery even when the ignition is switched off and the key removed.
If it is running on the battery only then that means the alternator is not charging the battery.
You disconnect your battery and then reconnect your battery again.
I have a 2002 Duramax 80,000 miles I have a steady 16mpg to and from work about 20 miles, and on trips running cruise control at 73-74 I have a steady 18.5mpg. Not bad for a truck of its sizebut it could be better.
Yes, and disconnecting the battery while the engine is running can severely damage the computers
I would say that the duramax is so quiet because it is overall a better balanced, smoother running engine compared to other diesels.
It means your alternator (generator) is not charging the battery while the engine is running.
my 05' cavalier has a bad alternator problem its charging the battery a little bit then stops and the little power my battery has is drained by the end of the night. I replaced the alternator twice and the battery but still no difference.
You need to check the charging system with a volt meter. It should have 13.9 to 14.2 volts at the battery with engine running.
Your putting a charge on the battery when its running.
i'd like to see 130-140 psi. gotta have 90 to fire.
