If there is no power to the airmatic pump on a Mercedes W220 S-Class, it could be due to several reasons. Common causes include a blown fuse, a faulty relay, or issues with the wiring or connectors leading to the pump. Additionally, the airmatic control module may be malfunctioning, preventing power from reaching the pump. Diagnosing the issue with a multimeter and checking the related components is recommended for accurate troubleshooting.
Changing the airmatic pump on a W220 Mercedes can be challenging due to its location and the need for specialized tools. It typically involves removing components such as the wheel arch liner and possibly the exhaust to access the pump. Additionally, proper reinstallation and system bleeding are essential to ensure the air suspension functions correctly. If you're not experienced with automotive repairs, seeking professional help is advisable.

W220 S320 2001 I changed transmission oil at 65,000 miles and see an noticeable difference in smoothness of the shift. The oil was of chocolate colour and had a distintive smell to it. I believe that transmission oil should be changed at 60,000 miles. auto transmission oil should be changed every 40,000 - 50,000 Kms or 25,000 - 30,000 Miles no mater what vehicle it is as oils only have a limited life span. The oil should be changed before it get to the chocolate colour as it then indicates the clutches in your transmission are burning and not engaging properly causing damage. Per the service booklet for your W220 on page 15, it should have been changed at 40k miles from new. If you have not had it done yet, your vehicle has not been serviced correctly, and you should take it to a different garrage!
An S600, either W220 or W221 chassis did not come with SBC. If you have a car that does however, I'm assuming you mean while doing service on the brakes, just unplug the big connector at the SBC unit. Plug it bacck in when you are done.

They had push-button start on all vehicles back in the 20s 30s 40s and 50s but you still had to insert and turn a key to the on position before pushing the starter button. But I assume you mean key-less ignition systems as we see on modern vehicles. Cadillac introduced this in 2007 on the CTS. Mercedes Benz was the first company to install this Siemens system in 1998 on the W220 S-Class.
