could be something wrong with the distributor. This happened to me a few months ago. My 2001 Honda prelude was only running off the battery for a day or so and I took it in to get the alternator replaced. They did that, but it still was only running off of the battery and my gauges weren't working. I took it back and they replaced the distributor and everything worked again.
Or the alternator could be loosely connected.
Voltage regulater ng or battery ng
Voltage regulater ng or battery ng
this is a guessing game with electrical ,i assume you've taken your alternator to get checked ,you could have a loose electrical wire or a blowen fuse also check your battery cables they may need cleaning , good luck.
bad pcm regulator
The alternator does not hold a charge. It charges the battery. If it will not charge the battery then either the alternator is defective, battery is defective, or the connections are corroded or loose. You should read 13.5 to 15.5 volts at the battery with the engine idling. Check it with a DC volt meter. If you get less the alternator is defective. If you get much more the voltage regulator is defective.
Inside the alternator
It sounds like the alternator is bad. If the alternator is bad the battery will not hold charge when running
If you are 100% sure the alternator is good, then either the wiring or the battery are bad. If the battery has a dead cell it will not hold a charge. Disconnect the battery cables and clean the connections. Charge the battery with a battery charger, and then connect the cables. If the battery is over 3 years old, it is more than likely bad.
Your battery is bad, your alternator is bad or you have a wiring problem.
If the battery is less than 2 years but doesn't seem to hold a charge
Here is a test u can do to see if Ur alternator is good or not . when car is running disconnect the negative battery terminal it's the black wire.If car stalls then the alternator is bad if it doesn't stall then it's Ur battery is bad and u have to replace it
Don't know this cars specifics, but usually, if the alternator light is on in your dash (the battery symbol) it means that your alternator is not charging your battery or that your battery cannot hold a charge.
check the alternator for most cars the alternator is wat powers the car the battery is for accesories... a quick check for alternator wit out having to disemble it tunr on ur car disconnect the postitive cable on the battery if car stays on then the alternator is good and the actual battery itself might be bad
depends on what way you are testing it but you either have a bad connection between the alternator and the battery or your battery is bad and cant hold the charge what voltage are you getting
There is something on that is pulling power from the battery. Any light or any relay that is stuck will drain the battery.
