This is usually due to a problem with either the front fluid pump or the torque converter, or both. If the front pump has failed or the seal has failed there will be no fluid pressure to engage any gears. This can also be said for a failed torque converter. Usual signs of this are whining noises coming from the transmission and slippage when the transmission was working. Another cause can be because the torque converter has been pulled out of the pump too far in order to mate with the flex plate. It should only be pulled out by 3/8 of an inch max.
I have a 350 turbo in mine Just about any transmission will work! Powerglide, Turbo 350 (lockup or non) or Turbo 400, even 700r4.
any Buick, olds or Pontiac turbo 350, turbo 400 or any overdrive tranny should bolt up to your engine.
Stick shift or automatic? any other gears work?
Is the car auto or manual? check fluidlevels first, have you noticed any burning smells prior to problem? Does it not engage in all gears including reverse?
No the 700r4 is a 4 speed transmission the turbo 350 3 speed without changing rear end car will rev really high at any speed over 45
Yes, you just have to look around. I just saw a website that had a turbo for sale for around 2 grand, its used but it'd would probably give you 5-6PSI which is like a 40% increase in overall power. they are hard to come by and i don't know why, doesn't make sense to put a turbo on a V6, just buy a 350 V8 5.7L engine and drop it in the F-body, then get a turbo. you could pump out a good 400 horses with just that, add a chip, bore out the cylinders, and some other performance parts and you'll be one fast dude. help any? A turbo on a V6 will outrun any 350 any day. Considering that the turbo is designed and installed correctly, you can possibly triple the horsepower of the V6 Oh by the way,,,adding a decent turbo to a 350 V* that is designed properly can give you 700-800 horsepower. And a decent 350/5.7 in practically new running condition will run you about $4000. Cheaper and more efficient to turbo the V6
that tranny isn't an electronic controled tranny its a hydralic controlled one
To determine if a shifter cable is broken, you can inspect the cable for any visible damage or fraying. You can also try shifting gears to see if there is any difficulty or if the gears do not engage properly. If you suspect the cable is broken, it is best to have it inspected and replaced by a professional mechanic.
It might but keep a close eye on it.
Yes. Any gear may be selected at a standstill, though it is recommended that you only engage the clutch in 1st or reverse when standing still.
any small block transmission a 4.3 is a 350 chev with the front 2 cylinders removed so turbo 400, 350, 700r4,4l60,200l4 and more
To determine if your Nissan 350Z has a turbo, first check the engine for any aftermarket modifications or turbo components, such as a turbocharger itself, intercooler, and piping. You can also refer to the vehicle's documentation or service records to see if a turbo kit was installed. Additionally, consult the owner’s manual or contact a dealership with your vehicle's VIN to confirm whether your specific model came with a turbo from the factory. Finally, if you're still unsure, a mechanic can inspect the vehicle for you.
