More than likely the slides are corroded. They have a funky chrome plated slide setup. Once the chrome wears/corrodes off, they like to hang up. Try disassembling the system and cleaning/lubricating the slides. Rhese trucks seeb to absorb moisture in the brake system over the years causing the front calipers to fail. I've owned 4 of these trucks (1982-1984) and have had problems with the calipers on 3 of them. I would suggest changing the front calipers and bleeding the brake fluid of the entire brake system. If it is a manual transmission I would suggest changing the fluid in that sytem as well. They both use DOT 3 brake fluid.
