OK..I own a 95 Tercel and had that same problem. I found out that between the brake pedal is a piece of rubber that prevents the two metal parts from touching. If that rubber breaks or is missing then the brake lights remain on. I just used some crazy glue and glued a penny where the rubber was. That worked perfect. Now that's my one cent on that.
Clean your battery terminals with soda water and get all the junk off the connector cables.
The same thing happened to my 1995 Tercel. I guessed that it was the Alternator. To test if it was, I disconnected the battery while the car was on, and it instantly turned off, which confirms that indeed the alternator is dead. My mechanic also confirmed it. I bought a new one for $95, and once the mechanic changed it, the lights turned off. The same thing happened to my 1995 Tercel. I guessed that it was the Alternator. On a 1991 Toyota Tercel, the Engine Control Module (ECM) is typically located under the passenger side dashboard, near the kick panel. You may need to remove some trim panels or the glove compartment to access it. Look for a rectangular or square-shaped unit with several wiring harnesses connected to it. Always ensure the vehicle is turned off before attempting to access the ECM.
They told me $5000.00, however, I bought the extended warrantee and there was no charge.
Symptoms of a blown main fuse in a 1984 Toyota Tercel typically include a complete loss of electrical power, meaning the car won't start, and no lights or accessories will function. You may also notice that the dashboard warning lights do not illuminate when the key is turned to the "on" position. Additionally, checking the fuse box may reveal a melted or broken fuse. If the main fuse is indeed blown, replacing it may restore power, but it’s essential to investigate the underlying cause to prevent future occurrences.
i was checking fuses on 1994 toyota camry and airbag light turned on.
Yes you can. And you should refridgerate them. However, do not be surprised to find that they have turned brown. They will still be edible though.
Is the AC turned on?

Two most probable possibilities immediately come to mind. To be checked out and eliminated first is that the brake light switch is not adjusted properly. The second would be that the brake light switch has become defective.j3h. check to see that brake pedal is releasing properly and not resting on brake light switch
No, the key must be on for the display to show.
