Temperature selector cable broken , the heater bypass valve broken , stuck closed or vaccum going to the control valve broken.
Answerwell sounds like the heater core is plugged,try to flush it out with a hose than reinstall the hoses backwards to reverse the flow.or you have an hvac concern mabye the blend door is not actuating.if the vehicle is reaching operating temp than the thermostat mustent be stuck open.What engine does it have and where on the top is th water coming from? (front, back, or side)
No it will not blow your engine or tranny up it has nothing to do with either of them. The thing to look for is if a speed sensor is out.
