hi your sts has a 4t80e transmission.this is a complete electronic transmission.this has to go in and have the electronics tested first.this car could also be in limp mode,designed to make you take the car into be tested and repaired.with electronics just because the trans.is acting up doesnt mean its the trans.engine performance or electronics can affect the trans. as well.your freewheeling is because of transmission design,put it in manual low and then lift your foot,should have no freewheeling then.
