There are several reasons that your fuel pump may stop working. You didn't tell us what type of car that you have, but here are some things that I would check.
1) The "Collision" sensor; many fuel pumps have a switch, so that if you get rear-ended it shuts off the pump. The reset switch for this is usually in the trunk, if your car is so equipped.
2) A bad ground or supply wire.
3) Dirt has clogged it.
4) It just plain burned out.
5) Fuel pump relay (favourite on Renault Clio among others)
Yes
check fuel pump fuse..
how do you know if the fuel pump is not working what are some signs. my care just won't kick over i have a new battery was working then just stopped
Pump worn out? Fuel pump relay? Fuse?
If you hear the fuel pump run that is a good sign it is working however, a fuel pump pressure test would tell you if the pump is meeting the required pressure.
The fuel filter could be blocked.
The Fuel pump sending unit has gone bad. Replace fuel pump assembly, not just the pump.
how do you tell if your fuel pump is working
how was it determened that the pump was working? just because you hear the pump working does not mean its working. it needs to be presure tested to find out if it has the right amount of presure. this is not uncommen for a fuel pump to be damged after running the tank low or out of gas,and even after a fill up.
probably when the pump stops working! WOW
Yes it could.
Bad relay, No power to relay, Wiring from relay to pump and our most likely problem is, the fuel pump is bad. changed it already
