There are three uses of the word "crown" in the play.
A crown is a tangible symbol of royalty, nobility, power and authority. It may be the prize presented to a beauty queen or winner of some sort of competition. So your dream of a crown is a dream of achieving what that crown represents, whether power or beauty or a high position of some kind. Alternatively, the crown in this dream could be a play on words, referring to a different sort of "crown" altogether. For example, you may be about to lose a dental crown from one of your teeth.
In Act 1 Scene 2, Bottom says he will wear a "French crown coloured beard, a perfect yellow." Quince replies with one of Shakespeare's favourite puns: "Some of your French crowns have no hair at all, and then you will play barefaced. A crown was a French gold coin; that is one meaning of "French crown". But a crown is also the top of one's head, and people who were suffering from syphilis (known at the time as "the French disease") often went bald, hence the head of someone who was suffering from the French disease was also a "French crown", a bald head resulting from syphilis. Hence the pun. Shakespeare apparently didn't mind making bald jokes even though he himself suffered from male pattern baldness and went bald at a fairly young age.
When younger he had a dream in which the Blessed Virgin offered him a choice of two crowns - a crown of chastity or a crown of martyrdom. He chose both.
In Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," various props are used to enhance the storytelling and create a magical atmosphere. Some of the key props include a love potion (often represented by a vial or bottle), a donkey's head (for the character Bottom's transformation), fairy wings and wands (for the characters Puck and the other fairies), and various symbolic items like flowers, crowns, and swords. These props help bring the fantastical elements of the play to life and contribute to the whimsical and enchanting nature of the story.
The dream might reflect the dreamer's feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment, modified by a religious scruple demanding humility.
In Greek mythology, Morpheus is the god of dreams and his symbol is often depicted as a crown made of poppies. This represents his role in shaping and sending dreams to mortals while they sleep. The poppy flower is also associated with sleep and relaxation, further emphasizing Morpheus' connection to the dream world.
