That happened to my 1996 F-150. Ended up being my oxygen sensor. It would crank, but not start.

bad tires, wheel alignment , bad tierod ends, start with tires may just need balanced...its the cheapest
Maybe the computer,is happening with my 98,Fuel system ok ,batt ok.
Most likely cause is a failed sending unit in the tank.
Oil in the distributor.
Take it to a mechanic ASAP. This is very dangerous. a cause of is the throttle cable fraying replace the throttle cable.
Could be, a dirty fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, a plugged/damaged catalytic converter,
It may be the fan belt.
