No only if it's a broken cam belt
Belt dressing if the belt is in good condition. Make sure that it is not a pulley squeaking and if the belt is in bad shape replace it.
belt tensioner is bad or one of your pulleys that the belt rides on is bad or out of alignment.
The belt tensioner is probably bad.
Did a mechanic look at your serpentine belt and tell you it is bad? If he did, it is probably bad. Open your hood. Take a look at it and feel it. Do you see or feel any cracks? Do you see any places where rubber is breaking off? If you do, it is bad. Replace it.
Possibly the wrong belt was installed or most likely your belt tensioner is bad.
The belt is bad if it has 3 cracks per square inch.
A squeaky belt is usually caused by a bad belt, a missaligned pulley, or something leaking on the belt.
sounds like your pully tensioner might be bad, throwing the belt... which runs your alternator, which might be why the car wont start.
You probably have a bad serpentine belt and tensioner.
Engine used a serpentine belt, with a spring-loaded tensioner. You cannot tighten the belt. If the belt is slipping, either one of the driven components is going bad and dragging the belt, or the tensioner is bad.
that's sounds more like the serpentine or power steering belt. Your timing belt is internal and you wont hear it but you will know when its broken... your car wont run.
I have a95 sl1 saturn with a bad ac compress that rattles and want torerout the serpentine belt off the compress. What is the typical cost and is it worth it?
