Sorry, you can't do anything other than replace the speedometer itself. The speedo is driven by a magnet system which also gear drives the odometer which is tamper proof. Check with a dealer in your area and depending on state law, you may be able to get a used speedo unit from a recycling yard and the dealer will place a sticker on the car verifying actual mileage. ^^ That is incorrect, it is not tamperproof. The way to fix this is to replace the odometer gear itself. The gear costs $28. You need to remove the speedo from the instrument cluster and tear the back of the odometer apart to replace the broken gear. The following weblink explains it in better detail than I could.
