The intake could, but it is real rare because of the distance between the water jacket and the intake runner on that year engine. Most of the time that a intake is leaking coolant it will run into the oil pan and the engine oil will turn white.
Your problem if the engine is steaming white out of the exhaust and over heating is a Bad head gasket or crack in the intake or exhaust valve chamber in the head.
Need to magnaflux the heads for cracks before reinstalling them.
Check them with a stright edge to make sure there not warped too.
Sounds like it was over heated. GOOD LUCK NEUTZ.
A manifold leak is usually in reference to a failure of the intake manifold gasket. It can leak air, oil or coolant. It can leak to the outside of the engine or internally into the engine. A manifold leak may also refer to the Exhaust manifold that is leaking exhaust fumes from a bad gasket or a crack in the manifold.
you have a coolant leak
Need to check the 4 corners on the intake manifold. It is common for the intake to leak engine coolant.
Blown head gasket and/or cracked head.
It sounds like you either have a leak at the exhaust manifold or the intake manifold. Most likely is the exhaust.
It snaps in. But before you snap it out, take the nut out that holds the pipe to the exhaust manifold.
Leak or blown gasket.
You will need a intake manifold set and possibly a plenum gasket set.
can exhaust manifold leak cause you to burn oil
Where is the leak coming from. Most likely you will need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket which will require removing the exhaust manifold.
Incorrect torque pounds, or incorrect sequence of torque, improper gasket installation, foreign matter not allow gasket to properly seal or warped intake manifold or warped block
Intake manifold leaks will cause the engine to idle rough and get poor fuel economy. An exhaust manifold will have no symptoms other than the sound of the leak.
