Hi, I looked this up for you on CarFax. This 1997 Honda Civic EX has no accident or damage report - but remember, they may just not have reported it, it doesn't mean there were no accidents! There were SEVEN previous owners. There is only ONE service record available. It FAILED the emission inspection in Colorado Springs, CO on 06/11/2004 when the odometer was at only 58,307. Changed owners and failed another Colorado emissions inspection on 10/17/2005 with odometer at 72,530. Don't forget, CARFAX does not check for stolen vehicles!!! None of their guarantees covers that! My car was stolen this past Sunday and I typed the VIN into CARFAX - the car comes up as a recommended one-owner car and guaranteed! They are helping crooks sell my stolen car! When I wrote to them about this, they were not at all sympathetic. I think their service should include a stolen car check.
Anyway, this Civic EX doesn't sound very good from the report...I hope you find a car that was taken care of even if it has some miles on it. Good luck!
Yeah, anyone can run a carfax. Just go to their website and pay the fee and you can run one too.
Yes, as long as you have the VIN and are willing to pay the fee.
Yes, the person who wants the Carfax report can run it. There is a fee.
You don't have to pay for the CARFAX at your local dealer. If you are buying a car I would ask the dealer to run the carfax for you - they often have memberships and can run as many reports as they like for no additional cost.

Yes. You can. Pretty simple, right? It's about $35 for a single report.Another option: if you're buying the car from a dealer, ask them to show you the carfax for the vehicle. Most are willing to do this for you for free.If you're buying it from another person, you can ask them to run the carfax on the vehicle before you buy it.A piece of advice... don't post the full VIN number for a vehicle online. People can pull up the registration information of the vehicle from that number, including names, addresses, and phone numbers. Very bad idea...No. Carfax is a rippoff now. They offer no more 30 day unlimited searches. You only get 5.

Nothing. Dealers do it free if you are buying a car, or are interested in a car. But they won't run a Carfax on a vehicle you already own just for your own use to see the car's history. If you want a Carfax for your car go to the Carfax site and it costs $40 ~ Let me add... I did a test of CarFax and I think you can use it but don't trust it! I had a car that was in a major accident and fully repaired by the dealer (factory authorized dealer) and about three years after that I paid for a Carfax Report, for that specific VIN number, and the results said zero REPORTED problems. There was over $7,000 of extensive repairs done to that vehicle. So don't trust it as the final determining factor. Even the advertisement says..."As reported to Carfax..."
You have no way of knowing. Anyone can pay a fee and have a background check run on someone.
