Using Permatex or similar gasket makers can help ensure a better seal on gaskets and may prevent leaks. However, it’s important to note that these products are typically designed for specific uses, such as sealing surfaces or filling gaps, rather than as a substitute for a proper gasket. Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations for the best results, and ensure surfaces are clean and dry before application. For critical applications, it may be better to replace the gasket entirely if it's damaged.
Never have seen a bad head gasket on a 3800 engine. The upper intake will leak coolant into the imtake ports and a greedy mechanic will tell you it's head gaskets. You may need to replace your oil pan gasket with a felpro perma dry gasket, cost more but worth it.
You possibly have a leak in the cylinder head gasket. You possibly have a leak in the head gasket.
My 2004 V6 is 12mm. Torques to 33 ft.lbs. Use new aluminum gasket to assure leak free operation.
Replace gasket why does gasket keep sliding
With a new valve gasket
If it is leaking from a bad head gasket, it is because of a bad head gasket. If it is leaking from a bad intake manifold gasket, it is because of a bad intake manifold gasket.
Head or head gasket leak
By replacing the whole gasket.
Yes!
I wouldn't recommend it. Replace the gasket.
If the leak is bad enough i believe it can but i would check your valve cover gasket first.
Having an oil leak in the same spot under your car is one sign of an oil pan gasket leak. Another is smoke from the engine department.
