A gear shift stuck in park on a Saab 9-3 can be caused by several issues, including a malfunctioning brake light switch, which prevents the shift interlock from releasing, or a faulty shift interlock solenoid. Additionally, low transmission fluid levels or a problem with the transmission itself may contribute to this issue. Ensure that the brake pedal is fully engaged, as this is necessary for shifting out of park. If these simple checks do not resolve the problem, further diagnostic work may be required.
If your 2002 Mercury Marquis is stuck in park, it may be due to a malfunctioning brake shift interlock system. This mechanism prevents the gear shift from moving out of park unless the brake pedal is pressed. Check if the brake lights are functioning; if not, it could indicate a blown fuse or a faulty brake switch. If the issue persists, consider consulting a mechanic for further diagnosis.

The gear shift on a 2003 Trailblazer may be stuck in park due to a malfunctioning brake light switch, which prevents the shift interlock system from releasing. Additionally, issues with the transmission range sensor or a faulty shift cable could contribute to this problem. A blown fuse related to the shift interlock system might also be the cause. Lastly, if the vehicle's battery is weak or dead, it can affect the electronic components involved in shifting gears.
Check to see if the brake lights are working - same circuit at the shift interlock Check fuse is lights are not Move key to 1st position (unlock) shift to neutral to start vehicle and then shift normally until repaired
put your foot on the brake.... if that doesn't work you have to fix the wiring for the brake/transmission interlock
