Yes
No, they are in the engine block, not in the heads. Freeze plugs are a misnomer. They are actually casting plugs.
The heads themselves have NO freeze plugs in them. But the block/engine has 8 freeze plugs in it.
they are casting plugs you will find them on each side of the engine block below the heads
The ( 2 ) engine , cylinder heads , are on each side of your V6 engine where the spark plugs are - just look for where the spark plug wires connect to the spark plugs
25mm
They are located in the engine block and in the heads.
The Engine - more specifically - the heads.
Freeze plugs, also known as core plugs or expansion plugs, on a Mercury 350 V8 boat engine are typically located on the sides of the engine block. They can also be found on the cylinder heads, depending on the specific engine design. Their primary function is to protect the engine from damage due to freezing by allowing coolant to escape if it expands when frozen. To locate them, check the sides of the engine block and the rear of the cylinder heads for small, circular metal plugs.
Are the heads and pistons stock ?? sounds like you have something /foreign object in the cylinder. Carbon, broken valve, Rod bearing spun in the rod journal allowing the piston to come up past TDC. Top dead center. Therefore striking the spark plug.Do you have more then 1 plug smashed ??If the engine has been souped up with high dome pistons and the clearance is not correct then pistons will strike plugs and probley bend the valves are even brake the valves, good by spark plugs and engine.Really need more info. to talk with you more about your problem. You will need to ask your question again if this does not help you. THANK YOU.
To construct an engine, you will need components such as a block, cylinder heads, pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, camshaft, intake and exhaust valves, timing belt/chain, fuel injectors, spark plugs, and a cooling system. These components work together to convert fuel into mechanical power.
On a 2006 GMC Envoy, the spark plugs are located on the engine's cylinder heads. For the inline-six engine, they can be found on the top of the engine, accessible by removing the engine cover if present. If your Envoy has a V8 engine, the spark plugs are located on either side of the engine block. Always ensure the engine is cool before attempting to access or replace the spark plugs.
On a 2002 Ford E-250 cargo van, the spark plugs are located on the engine's cylinder heads. For the V8 engine, you'll find them under the ignition coils, which need to be removed to access the spark plugs. If your van has a V6 engine, the spark plugs will still be found on the cylinder heads but may be positioned differently depending on the specific engine configuration. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for detailed instructions on accessing and replacing spark plugs.
