No, the electric cooling fans turn on and off by a signal from the coolant temp sensor. The coolant level sensor only illuminates the low coolant light when you are low on coolant.
the temperature sencer tell your fans to turn on when the coolant in your radiator gets to hot
Usually ECT or engine coolant temp sensor. That's what tells the engine computer to turn on the fans.
The low coolant sensor is located in the side tank of the radiator.jd
hi, fans will work when power is jumped direct to fan wiring, . but not with relays or sensors, replaced relay number one but still not working as factory set up. is sensor on radiator a coolant level sensor or fan sensor to trigger relays
If the low coolant message is on and you are certain that the coolant level is up, then you probably have a faulty sensor or sensor connector. The low coolant indicator should turn itself off as soon as the coolant is filled.
The low coolant sensor is located in the side of the radiator. It can be unplugged but then how will you know it is low.
You probably have a bad temperature sensor. TS reads the temp of the coolant and turns the fans on when hot enough. Without it the fans arent controlled by temp. When you turn on the AC the fans always come on.
By adding coolant to the overflow reservoir, if it does not turn off when at the proper level the sensor is most likely faulty.
The cooling fans are controlled by the engine computer. It watches the coolant temp sensor, which is near the thermostat, to decide when to run the fans. Yhe computer acuates a realy to turn the fans on.
the coolant temp sensor( cts) reads the temp of the engine and adjust the fuel air mixture depending on the temp. if its cold out the sensor will adjust for more fuel to ease the start of the engine. ADDITIONAL: The Coolant Temperature Sensor measures the temp of the coolant, not the engine. The sensor controls the thermo fans on/off. depending upon temperature. The actual engine temperature sensor is on top of the engine and does not control the fans. If the fans do not switch on at any temperature, disconnect the 2 wire connector from the sensor (Usually at the bottom of the radiator) If fans start up with connector disconnected, replace the sensor.
unless there is something wrong with your car, the cooling fans are activated when a sensor in the cooling system detects that the coolant is too hot and that is when the fans turn on to help bring airflow to the radiator or just to circulate hot air away from the engine. if the coolant is still hot when your car turns on, then the fan will stay on as well. Also, if the AC is in the on position both the fans will run.
I have a 96 ta and I made the fans on it manual so I can turn them on wen they need to be like wen I'm running it hard
