White smoke (steam) coming out the exhaust that has a sweet smell to it.You are always adding coolant to the reservoir but never see a leak.
Constant air bubbles coming out if the radiator coolant when engine is running and radiator cap is off.
Engine overheats for no apparent reason.
A compression test will determine which cylinder/head has the problem.
I just got $250 for my 1995 Dodge Spirit in October 2011. I got the car off a friend when the orginal headgasket went bad at 120,000 miles. I had my mechanic replace the head gasket with a second one. The head gasket I had installed (second head gasket for vehicle) went bad 11,000 miles later. The Dodge Spirit is notorious for having head gasket problems. It wasn't worth putting a third head gasket on it. When a head gasket goes bad on these vehicles you can expect problems with the following: 02 sensor, thermostat, timing belt, and a possible cracked/warped head.
You either have a bad manifold gasket or blown head gasket.
sounds to me like you got a bad head gasket or might be loosing it in the in the oil good way to check is by looking under the oil cap if you see a white creamy supstance it means you got a bad head gasket
Bad head gasket, cracked engine block, cracked head. It's one or two of the three.
flush system and depending on how it got there you may want to look at either head gasket or intake gasket
More than likely a head gasket.
Sounds like a bad head gasket allowing coolant to pass.
It's not always the case if your car is overheating. This could be a sign the head gasket is bad but many other things could cause overheating as well. If your car got hot or runs hot it won't always require a new head gasket
Yes, a bad intake gasket can cause coolant to mix with engine oil. Indeed a bad lower intake can cause this. Who ever said the head gasket is a moron. You can't assume this all the time. This is why you have diagnostic tools such a a compression tester and a leak down tester. For example, my compression is good, and the valves are not leaking past the specs. However, there is air coming from the lower intake. The gasket is bad. Also, it's always suggested that you change the oil after the gasket just to be sure no water got in the oil pan from doing the gasket.
Head gasket leaking?
Head Gasket itself is the same from 1987-1996 so it doesn't matter. Just got gasket set for the truck.
Sounds like maybe the head gasket let go when it got hot. Hopefully it did not warp the head. If it did, it's still not the end of the world. When you have the head off to change the gasket, have it checked and if necessary, have it planed a couple of thousandths t true it up.
