It is not hard, our locksmiths do it on a daily basis. There are two locksmith methods to getting a broken key out of a lock, try a very thin pair of tweezers and work the key back and forth. The second way is two use a really small flat head screwdriver and a hairpin. Take the hairpin and insert it into the lock, push all the way up to the top so that the pins in the cylinder will not get in the way. Then take the screwdriver and and fit it into the side of the broken key. Then pry the key out. Hope this helps.

I had the key break off in a saturn car door. I used a paperclip that i bent the end just a tiny bit. i Pushed it in on top of the broken key and used the bent hook end to jiggle the broken key out. when it was far enough out I just grabbed the key with a pair of needle nose pliers.
