The bulb is accessible from behind, though if you have large hands you will find the procedure difficult. Because of how tight the space is, and because I wasn't sure what to do to begin with, it took me about an hour to remove the light, though in theory this is a 30-second job. Now that I've done it once, I imagine I could do it again in 10 minutes.

For maximum safety you may want to disconnect the battery.

For the driver-side orange parking light, there is one thin-plastic cover you will want to remove. There are 3 plastic "buttons" that are pressed into place. These just need to pop up about 1/4-inch to release them. You can do this by hand, or gently pry up with a flat-head screwdriver. On my car, the passenger-side didn't have this cover, though I wonder if it is just missing because there are holes there where the cover would fit into place. If your car has the cover on the passenger-side, removal is as described above.

There is no need to disconnect the wire from the light assembly, but if you choose to do so you can remove the very tight connector by squeezing the tab at the bottom of the connector (where the wires enter) and pulling back very hard. Be careful you don't cut yourself on some metal part of the car frame when the connector comes free.

The bulb is removed by twisting the light assembly 45 degrees counter-clockwise and pulling straight back. The assembly is fairly deep (about 1.5 inches or so). It is held in place by 4 plastic, tabbed flanges at the 12-o'clock, 3-o'clock, 6-o'clock, and 9-o'clock positions. A rubber gasket keeps water out and also keeps it fairly snug in its socket. So you just need to turn far enough so that, for example, the 12-o'clock flange sits at about 10-o'clock (10:30 to be precise). Then pull out the entire assembly. I imagine you could turn clockwise, but I turned counter-clockwise.

The bulb is now removable by pulling it out of the assembly.

Put the new bulb in. Wipe any finger grease off the bulb to prevent uneven heating and bulb breakage.

If you disconnected the electrical connector, reattach it now.

Connect the battery if you disconnected it.

Test the light to make sure it turns on.

To reassemble, guide the connector into place with the 4 flanges rotated 45 degrees counter-clockwise from directly horizontal/vertical (and with the electical wires at the 4:30 position). Rotate the connector 45 degrees clockwise so that the electrical wires and the bottom flange are back to their original 6-o'clock position.

Replace the thin-plastic cover and push the three, small "buttons" downward to secure the cover.

Close the hood. You are done.
