To change the ignition coil on a 1987 Jeep YJ, first disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts. Remove the coil wire and any connectors attached to the coil, then unbolt the coil from its mount. Install the new coil by reversing the removal process, ensuring all connections are secure, and finally, reconnect the battery. Start the engine to verify that the new coil is functioning properly.
The elctrics simply slide off it you pull the entire plastic cap away from the engine. The rest is basically unbolting and bolting on a new unit.
FIRST OFF A 2004 IS NOT A YJ. JEEP WRANGLERS THRU 87-95 ARE YJ MODELS IN 96 THEY TOOK A BREAK AND IN 97 THEY CAME OUT WITH THE TJ MODEL. SO YOUR 2004 SOFT TOP WILL NOT FIT A YJ.
YJ body type and all parts are interchangeable, 87 thru 95 are all YJ.
Yes the 87 and 83 are both YJ's
anything between 87 and 95
87 thru 95 will work on your jeep, they are all YJ's
I believe the 87 had a pull up type switch on top of the steering column.
Should be good, but check the door hinges, Jeep made a change from the CJ to YJ.
It should the YJ was from 87 thru 95
The correct name of the Jeep YJ, is the Jeep Wranger YJ. One can purchase a Jeep Wrangler YJ at Jeep car dealers, as well as regular car dealers worldwide.
Yes. The YJ Jeep Wranglers (square headlights) were made 87- 95 - there was no 96 as the TJ was introduced as an early model 1997 in the Spring. The windshields in all YJ from 87-95 are the same.
The 2009 top will not fit on a 1992 YJ
