It is tight, but the trouble is to assume that the two bottom lugs of the clip undo as with most conventional bulbs, but the thing to do is to release it from the other end ie where you would normally expect it to hinge. So pull off the cover and disconnect the plug-in and then get a small vanity mirror to see the top properly. It is secured on one side only and you should be able to see the single retaining lug. It's a fiddle but you can free it with a bit of trial and error - nothing like the force I was using and wasting trying to free one of the two bottom ends.Stick the new bulb in - a 472 - and clip the thing back in and hope it doesn't go any time soon again
Buy a bulb from Halfords, and get them to change it free....
