To change the tension pulley on a 1993 Chrysler New Yorker, first, ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the tensioner assembly, then use a wrench to rotate the tensioner arm counterclockwise to relieve tension on the serpentine belt. Remove the belt from the tension pulley, then unbolt the pulley from the tensioner assembly and replace it with the new pulley. Finally, reattach the belt, ensuring it's properly routed, and reapply tension to the belt by releasing the tensioner arm.
To loosen a tension pulley on a 1991 Chrysler New Yorker, turn the nut in the center of the pulley. This will allow the pulley to slide in the cut-out groove so that the belt will loosen.
Yes.
Assuming you have a serpentine belt on that 3.3L engine, the tension on the alternator would be controlled by the idler (tension) pulley. The alternator is stationary.
It is the smaller pulley in the center rear of the belt.
Passenger side, front, lowest pulley.
A guide pulley helps to change the direction of a moving belt or cable, while a tension pulley is used to maintain the proper tension in the belt or cable.
The tension on a serpentine belt is automatically set by the Idler Tension Pulley. If you find it is not correctly setting the tension, the the spring may be broken.
you have to push down on the tension pulley, then you would get slack in the belt
With a self adjusting tensioner pulley, there is no adjustment for tension.
To change the tension pulley on a 2005 Buick Rendezvous, first, disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Next, use a socket wrench to relieve tension on the serpentine belt by rotating the tensioner pulley, then remove the belt from the tension pulley. Unbolt the old tension pulley from its mount, replace it with the new one, and reattach the serpentine belt following the proper routing. Finally, reconnect the battery cable and check the installation.
u need to relaese tension on the tension pulley. this is usually done with a long socket wrench handle. when u release tension and remove belt you then release tension on pulley until you have routed new belt . you then move tension pulley again until you can put belt on it, then release pulley and it will automatically provide correct tension
