you would have to hook the vehicle up to a scan too and u can look in the bcm and it will tell u the fuel level if it doesn't match the fuel gauge ur cluster is most likely bad
Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. Need to check fuel pressure with a gauge first. Then check fuel pressure regulator. I use a fuel pressure gauge.
check fuel sending unit and float. Also check fuel gauge itself.
Most fuel gauge problems are the result of a faulty fuel gauge sending unit located in the fuel tank.
Your fuel is low. Its telling you to check your gas gauge...

with a fuel pressure gauge
You will need a fuel pressure gauge.
With a fuel pressure gauge.
Start with the fuses. Check the fuel sending unit at the fuel tank, this is the most common part to cause a non working fuel gauge.
To check the fuel gauge on a 1957 Oldsmobile, first ensure the ignition is on without starting the engine. Then, observe the fuel gauge on the dashboard; it should point to the appropriate level based on the amount of fuel in the tank. If the gauge doesn’t move or shows an incorrect reading, inspect the wiring and connections from the gauge to the sending unit in the fuel tank. Additionally, you may want to check the sending unit itself for any faults.
check for broken wire from fuel sender unit in fuel tank to gauge. check fuel sender unit for proper operation. float may be stuck in the tank then check fuel gauge
