What does a PO336 code mean?

Answer 1Code "P0336" is the code for a crankshaft position sensor (CPS) fault. The connection may just be loose but it probably needs to be replaced. P.S. After replacing the CPS you may need to do a Case learn (or crankcase learn)..This is a procedure to set the sensor to identify the correct cylinder relative to the crank position. If you cant or dont know how to do this take your car to a professional.

What is code for crank sensor on a 2005 Kia Optima?

The trouble code for a crankshaft position sensor on a 2005 Kia Optima is typically P0335, which indicates a malfunction in the crankshaft position sensor circuit. Other related codes may include P0336 and P0337, which correspond to performance issues and sensor range problems, respectively. If you encounter these codes, it's advisable to check the sensor and its wiring for faults or damage.

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a 2001 Silverado 5.3L?

Where is the crankshaft sensor on a 2001 Silverado 5.3L 4wd Located? Passenger side of vehicle right behind the starter "you have to remove starter!" Raise vehicle and remove right front wheel, unbolt starter 13mm bolt, unbolt exhaust shield on manifold for better access, move the starter forward a little bit to gain access to crankshaft sensor, unbolt sensor (1 bolt and use long extension) wiggle side to side and pull out. Put the new sensor in place and reassemble (reverse steps). Maybe this will help someone else... The check engine error code 'P0336' which lead me to change sensor. Reasons the vehicle would start stalling/stumbling on the highway which leads to no steering, brake peddle hard etc. The engine cooled down a little and restart but if sensor completely fails no restart. Your Stranded! 123k miles on truck already so I replace 2 cats and all 4 HO2 sensors, run good now.

How do you get the service engine soon light on 97 Monte Carlo to go out if you have already replaced the ignition module plugs wires crank sensor and all 3 coil packs?

An interesting question because you don't say why you changed all those components and parts in the first place. I have to ASSUME that the SES light came on, you changed all the parts, and the light is still on. Is that right? The 97 Monte has a Powertrain Control Module (PCM)that utilizes OBD ll fault codes. You plug in a scanner to read the fault code(s) that turned the SES on in the first place. If you did scan, I'm guessing you had codes ranging from PO300 through to P0336. For some reason, you changed all the parts you listed. Was the engine missing? Did it stop missing after the parts change? If it did and the SES light is still on try this: 1) Clear the codes with your scanner or, 2)Disconnect the ground cable from the battery, or, if you have theftlock, pull the PCM power fuse to kill the power to the PCM for 60 seconds. Reconnect the power and turn the key to see if the SES stays on. If the light goes off, run the engine for a few minutes, shut it off and restart, if there is still no SES light, problem is fixed because no new codes were set. If the light is on, you're probably getting false misfire trouble codes because you replaced either the 7X or 24X crank position sensor. You will have to get a dealer to zap your PCM with a Crankshaft Position Sensor Variation Learning Procedure. Hope this helped
