You have to take the clutch cable out first as it is easier and take the radiostat out. More importantly you should make sure all the pressure is released.
thanks, Pete
To change the input shaft and bearing on a 2005 Ford Freestyle, first, disconnect the battery and remove the transmission from the vehicle. Next, disassemble the transmission to access the input shaft and bearing. Carefully remove the old input shaft and bearing, then install the new ones, ensuring proper alignment. Finally, reassemble the transmission, reinstall it in the vehicle, and reconnect the battery.
Because of a bad input shaft seal. Replacing this requires that the transmission be removed from the vehicle.
It is a sensor on the transmission that reads the rotational speed of the input shaft. It is a sensor on the transmission that reads the rotational speed of the input shaft.
Manual transmission that is in gear-YES
A gear which causes the transmission output shaft to rotate at a higher speed than the transmission input shaft.
It means that it has at least one gear where the output shaft rotates at a higher rate than the input shaft. So, if you have a transmission with a .70 overdrive ratio, it means the transmission output shaft makes one full rotation for ever 7/10ths of a rotation from the input shaft.
When the input shaft is locked to the intermediate/output shaft
It is on the input shaft of the transmission (inside the bellhousing). to remove it you need to remove the transmission enough to slide the input shaft, remove the hydraulic lines that control it and slide it off the shaft.
If you are asking what a clutch shaft is related to the installation of a clutch, it is a plastic alignment shaft that is used to line the clutch disc up with the pilot bearing in the flywheel, so that when you install the transmission the transmission input shaft will slide thru the clutch splines and into the pilot bearing in the flywheel with relative ease. They are a must for any clutch installation!
Yes, you can turn the input shaft by hand when the transmission is out of the car, assuming there are no internal obstructions or damage. However, it may require some effort, depending on the transmission type and its condition. It's important to ensure that the transmission is in neutral to facilitate easier turning of the shaft.
