Look for a pressure switch at the top of the accumulator/drier usually at the passenger's side firewall - use a paper clip or similar to "jump" the terminals at this switch

Not sure what engine you have but it is highly unlikely the timing would jump being that it is driven by a chain. If it was to jump it probably wouldn't start and possibly backfire in the attempt to start.

Check the earth connections between the battery & the chassis also between the chassis and the engine
