how to remove 2012 fortuners front door pannel
you have to remove the door pannel, theres about 3 bolts you have to undo to remove it from the door, but you have to take the inside door pannel off, like where you rest your arm on the door.
push in on the door pannel by the crank and remove the snap ring behind the pivit point
remove side pannel on driver side to get to the window on a 2001mustang v6
You need to remove the entire door pannel. There are manuals that show you how to do it.
Annoyingly, this requires some dashboard dismantling. Remove the fasia, dials, lower dash and kick pannel. The bolts to the door hinges are now visible, though still difficult to get to. If it's the paasenger side, then just the glove box and kick pannel I guess.
It is easy to replace the mirror. First lift the door handle on the inside and remove the screw behind the handle. Second remove the door pannel. There is pop in fastners holding the door on. If any fall out when you remove the door pannel just slide them back in there slots when you put it back on. Next remove the rubber grommets covering the access to the bolts holding the mirror on. Use a 10mm socket to remove the mirror. If you have power / heated mirror just unplug the old mirror and when you go to install the new one run the wires back the same way the old ones were. Installing the new one is doing what you did to take the old on off in reverse. Take your time and pay attention to how you took it apart and putting everything back together will be easy. One las tip. If you have power windows, when you remove the door pannel unhook the power window control so the door panel isn't hanging. There is a chance you can damage the wires and the switch pannel by letting it hang, you can also scratch the door pannel if you drag it on the ground opening and closing the door.
the linkages to either the handles or the lock or both has come off. here's the kicker... you need to open the door to take of the inside door pannel to fix it. try to remove the pannel with the door closed. or a "skilled" vheicle locksmith could open it from the outside...but it's not cheap.
there are several Phillips screws (3 under the window switch pannel, one by the door handle and then one behind each lamp lense in the pannel. )after you remove these the pannel should be pulled off being careful to pll right on the clips. they will make a snap sound, but they shouldn't break. if they do , the local parts store will have replacements (tell them you need "Christmas tree fasteners" they should know what you are asking for) then you can disconnect the power accessories on the arm rest and remove the pannel. hope this answers your question -Jake
pop of the plastic cover on the inside of the door it is only cliped on, undo the 3 bolts unclip
I THINK THERE IS A SCREW IN THE DOOR CLOSING HANDELE AND UNDER THE SWITCH PANNEL.
Driverside bottom of the windshield, driverside door panel, and there may be on on the hood in the engine compartment
