if you have never done this before,i suggest you purchase a good manual for your car and follow the instructions.there is a long list of things that must be done in a certain order to remove/replace a head(s) and get it running again.
Unplug the harness at the motor , then disconnect te hydrolic lines.
replace head gasket

You will need to do either a cylinder leak down test or a compression test.
Check to see if it is getting power - if so replace motor - if not check fuse, relays and switch

Replace water pump and gasket
the thermistat is located inside the upper radiator hose, where it connects to the motor. have the car off and cold. just unbolt it and pull the old w/gasket. replace with new and gasket. bolt in. the attach hose. top off antifreeze
