Buy a new or find a used door hinge . Forget about replacing the pin
You have to replace the whole hinge assembly, they don't make a hinge pin kit for the Thunderbird.
I have a 1999 gmc 1500 sierra,need to replace door pins and bushings.door sagging.
it will take 2 people... use a floor jack at the open end of the door to hold it at the same hight. use the second person two keep the door from twisting when you remove a pin...then just replace one pin at a time.
the pins just drive out and the new ones drive in, just prop the door up first and drive 1 pin at a time out and replace it.
To replace the door hinge pins on a 1997 Jimmy you will need to open the door up. Place two jack stands on the front and back of the door's length at the bottom portion of the door for support. Remove the damaged hinge pin with the proper socket. Place the new hinge pin in place and secure it.
Nader pin is the pin in the door jam that the door latches on to, to close. It is also called a door striker pin.
The pin will probably have to have the bottom end that is flared out cut off or drilled out. The pin can then be tapped out. This is easier if the hinge has been removed but then the door will have to be blocked up into place while the hinge is off.
I would try Rock Auto.
You do not remove the pin. Remove the bolts holding the entire hinge from the door. You need a helper to do this, and will need help aligning the new door. Mark the location of the old hinge with a marker around the outer edge of the hinge and replace it as close as possible in the exact same location.
