You have to remove the rear tire and you will see the Rear ball joint pressure fit into a round bar the easiest way to get this out is to heat it with a blow torch and pound it with a hammer and chizzle. This should eventually pop it out and then the new one is much easier to replace.
Part Of Upper Control Arm
A 2002 Chrysler Sebring has an overhead cam engine. That means it does not have push rods.
To replace the upper ball joint on a 2002 GMC Sonoma, begin by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the front wheel. Disconnect the upper control arm from the ball joint by removing the retaining nut and using a ball joint separator to detach it. Once the old ball joint is removed from the control arm, install the new ball joint, secure it with the retaining nut, and reattach the control arm. Finally, reassemble all components, check for proper alignment, and lower the vehicle.
To replace the upper threaded ball joint on a 2002 Dodge van, first lift the vehicle and remove the front wheel for access. Disconnect the upper control arm from the steering knuckle and any associated components, then unthread the old ball joint from the control arm using a ball joint removal tool. Install the new ball joint by threading it into the control arm, then reassemble by reconnecting the control arm to the steering knuckle and reinstalling the wheel. Finally, lower the vehicle and check for proper alignment.

Ignition switch 2002 Chrysler sebring. Original key will not turn? Is there a fuse or replace the switch?
You will need to replace the upper control arm. My research has determined it is not possible to purchase the ball joint seperately. If you do happen to find the ball joint you will have to press the old one out of the control arm which can be a real pain. Autozone has a tool to do it with but I am opting to just change the control arm so the bushing are also new. Moog Part number for the Upper Ball Joint is K80008. This is WITHOUT the control arm. Changing the control may prove to be easier but will most likely be a dealer item.
It is not a direct swap. They use different transmissions, computers, wiring, etc.
