First, of all, you need to realize Cape Cod isn't a city. It's more like its own little state. So the answer completely depends on where on the Cape you're going. To get what's called the Middle Cape, or the Chatham area, you're looking at 1,061 mi - about 17 hours.

The other HUGE factor is when you're arriving on the Cape. There are two bridges that provide access, and about half of Boston's population is going over them on Fridays after 3pm. In the summer, Saturday morning traffic is also brutal, because most of the rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Arriving at the bridges at either of those times can easily add 2-3 hours to your drive time. Or should I say sit-and-wait time.

If you're not going in the summer, that traffic isn't something you'll have to worry about.
