From my experience 400 miles will take around 8 hours if you're stopping for restrooms breaks and food. It depends on how frequently you stop. Our trips to Ohio are roughly 400 miles and the fastest we've done it is 6.5 hours with no stops and little traffic while our slowest time was 10 hours. The 10 hour trip was because of rain fog and hail, not even mentioning the traffic through Washington DC.
