1,390 miles (2,237 kilometres) taking this route:

  1. Take TRANS-Canada HIGHWAY 1 WEST from Winnipeg to B.C. HIGHWAY 15 (176 St.) to the U.S. BORDER at EXIT 53 in British Columbia, via B.C. HIGHWAY 5 going thru the Okanagans in British Columbia. Turn right off the exit ramp onto B.C. HIGHWAY 15 SOUTH to the U.S. BORDER. To bypass CALGARY, take HIGHWAY 201 STONEY TRAIL - NORTH (EXIT 36 off HIGHWAY 201 STONEY TRAIL to get back onto HIGHWAY 1 WEST to BANFF).
  2. Follow HIGHWAY 15 SOUTH on 176 St. to the U.S.A. BORDER and I-5 via HIGHWAY 15 and the PACIFIC X-ING or via HIGHWAY 99 to the PEACE ARCH; YOUR CHOICE (there will be an electronic info sign telling you which border x-ings have the lowest delays and you will follow signs to the border x-ing with the lowest delay).
  3. Cross into WASHINGTON, U.S.A. via either the PACIFIC X-ING or the PEACE ARCH X-ING.
  4. From there, follow I-5 SOUTH to Bellingham.
