3000 miles taking this route:

  1. Take I-10 to I-95 via I-295 NORTH (EXIT 356 off I-10, then exit at EXIT 35B to get onto I-95 NORTH). In Louisiana, there are two cities that you will bypass: first, bypass Lake Charles via I-210 (EXIT 25 off I-10). Second, bypass New Orleans via I-12 EAST. (EXIT 169 off I-10 in Baton Rouge, then I-12 to EXIT 85C in Slidell to get back onto I-10 EAST.)
  2. Take I-95 NORTH to Boston. NOTE: In Delaware MAKE SURE you take I-295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. It is just past EXIT 4. What you will do is you will cross the Delaware Mem. Bridge on I-295 into New Jersey from Delaware and then you will follow signs to the New Jersey Turnpike and then, from there, take the Turnpike up New Jersey. The New Jersey Turnpike will join with I-95 later on. There are several bypasses that you will take around various cities on I-95. First, bypass Richmond, Virginia via I-295. (EXIT 46 off I-95; then EXIT 43A off I-295 to get back onto I-95 NORTH.) Second, bypass Washington, D.C. via I-95/495 (Capitol Beltway). Third, bypass downtown Baltimore, Maryland via I-895 and the Harbor Tunnel (toll). Fourth, bypass New York City via I-287 (EXIT 10 off I-95 New Jersey Turnpike) and the Tappan Zee Bridge across the Hudson River in Westchester County, New York. Fifth and finally, bypass Providence, Rhode Island via I-295 NORTH (EXIT 11 off I-95).
