For what it's worth, my '96 with a bit over 200,000 miles on the odometer is still getting between 28 and 31 mpg, dependent on conditions and how I drive.
I would imagine that your newer vehicle would do at least that well.
Taking fuel prices into consideration, this is a good time for us Sunfire owners to hang on to, and maintain our little fuel squeezers!
