the Chevy cavalier does not have a drive axle, it has cv (constant velocity) shafts, which are faitly expensive to have replaced, but the part itself is not terribly expensive, my dads 2003 Mazda Protege's shaft was $140 Canadian, just don't go through your dealer they charge way more ($480 in this case) but they take quite awhile to replace so the labor costs are quite high
call a auto parts store, have them see if the parts are the same.
