Using 5W-20 oil in an LT1 engine can be too thin, especially in high-temperature or high-performance situations. The LT1 typically operates better with a thicker oil, such as 10W-30 or 10W-40, which provides better protection under load and high temperatures. Always consult the owner's manual or manufacturer recommendations to ensure optimal performance and engine longevity.
