the center bolt is for the harmonic balancer , aka , vibration damper or torsional damper . the torque specs. i have are 1985 and before 60 ft-lbs , 1986 to 1995 70 ft-lbs , 1996 and later 74 ft-lbs . can't find any specs. for the pulley bolts .
Are you talking about the "idler pulley"? They are quite simple to change. Loosen the serpentine belt by using a socket on the center of the tensioner pulley, slide the belt off the idler pulley, use a socket to pull the center bolt of the idler pulley and replace the pulley with a new one.
HOW TO GET A PULLEY OFF A 1998 CHEVY BLAZER
They all must be torqued at a certain spec. None will be loose.
The long bolts should be torqued to 46 lb ft plus an additional 90 degrees, and the short bolts should be torqued to 43 lb ft plus an additional 90 degrees. They should also be tightened in sequence starting with the rear center bolt first, and then the front center bolt. The correct sequence, starting with the left rear bolt and moving clockwise would be: 8-4-1-5-9-10-6-2-3-7.
It is the small pulley with a nut in the middle on the pulley assembly!
Use a 5/8 deep socket. The pulley should fall down when loosened enough.
The 4.3 liter Chevy Astro head gasket torque specification is 160 pounds. The head gasket bolts should be torqued in 40 pound intervals.
Main bearing torque on 98 Chevy 350 4 bolt main?? The main bearing caps should be torqued to 70 ft. lbs.
I don't believe there is an idler pulley on that model, just a tensioner pulley
there should be 3 or 4 bolts that hold pulley on, just remove these bolts a pulley should come off. but remove belt first ! if pulley keeps turning while removing bolts. you can hold it stationary with a scredriver or similar.
On a 1996 Chevy Astro Van, the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley that indicates top dead center (TDC) is typically aligned with a mark on the timing cover. The mark on the pulley is usually at 0 degrees, which corresponds to TDC for cylinder number one. To ensure accuracy, it's advisable to verify this with the vehicle's service manual or specifications, as markings can vary or may be difficult to see.
65 lb/ft. There is also a sequence to follow. I suggest you take a look at this: http://www.boxwrench.net/specs/chevy_sb.htm
