It helps to know if you have a 2.2L or a 2.4L. I dont know how to do it on a 2.4L because I've never done it, but on the 2.2, here goes:

You will need a long crowbar to move the tension pulley. Take a long pulley and wedge it in behind the tension pulley. The pulley moves towards the front of the car. If you are standing on the passenger side of your car looking at your engine, the pulley will be on your left (towards the firewall) about halfway down. It should be right below the Power Steering pulley. You will see a big round thing with an arm reaching off of it to a smaller pulley that the serpentine belt runs around. Stick the crowbar behind the tension pulley and move the pulley forward, loosening the tension on the serpentine belt. While holding the tension pulley forward, pull the belt off of the alternator. Let the tension pulley go slowly, dont let it spring back. It could damage more things. Now, just unbolt the three bolts on the alternator and unbolt the power cable, and the connector as well and wiggle the alternator out.

You will need to pull either the transmission or the engine. The flywheel is attached to the back of the engine, to the output side of the crankshaft. If it is a manual transmission, you will need to align the clutch to the pilot bearing before you tighten the pressure-plate.
