Hi, the tightening of the con rod bolts is done in 2 stages, Stage 1 is 30nm or 22 lbft. Stage 2 is a further 180deg (half a turn). Hope this is of some help. Woody-K

Out of car method. Remove the head and sump Undo the con rods from the crank, then slide the con rod & piston out. In car method. Drain the coolant Remove the cylinder head(s) Raise the car. Drain the oil Remove the sump. Undo the con rods from the crank. Push up the piston and con rod assembly. On some vehicles it is not possible to remove the sump in situation. A good home workshop manual will be a real help in doing this job.
I do not know the tension, But the torque for the rod caps is 35 ft lbs.
