You have to return the car to the authorities, because it was stolen from the original owner. If you keep the car you could be held as an accessory to car theft.
You will get the money back for the car from the criminals through the court in the form of compensation.
No, the seller is obligated to provide clean title. If the dealer has sold a stolen car, you should be able to get all of your money back.
that means u just bought a stolen car.
check with local dmv, abandoned title form.
Nope, they should have applied for a lost title prior to the sale. And you never ever buy a vehicle without first doing a title check and leaving with the title and bill of sale.
It sounds like you bought a stolen car. You cannot register a Title if you do not have a Title signed over to you with the Registered Owner's signature. If this is your situation, you can take the SELLER to small claims court to return your money. But, in the meantime, take the car to the police to see if it is stolen. If it is and you're caught driving / in possession of it, YOU can be charged.
When you bought the salvage, the junk yard should've given you a 'salvage' title. You don't buy cars without getting a title. Talk to your state DMV and hopefully it's not stolen! Good luck.
A salvage title can be caused by a car having been damaged in a previous wreck also if a car has been previously stolen and the owner was already given a replacement before the car was found then the stolen car may receive a salvage title
Go to the state Motor Vehicle office, where you would normally register a vehicle. There may be extra steps to take to get title for a salvaged vehicle. Don't buy cars without getting a title. EVER. If the car was stolen you may have to return it.
If the title was stolen, or you suspect the title was stolen, you should file a police report. Outside of this, you can go back to the BMV where you got the title from originally and request a new copy of the title be issued.
If you ask me I'll better choose a title because a crown can be bought after having a title but a title can't be bought if you choose a crown.
The dealer has to give you the title right away. If you have it now, there's not much you can do. You have the title. But before you got it, you could have returned the car as far as I know. I would have the title ran and check to see if it's a stolen car or anything. If it is, you can return the car and get your money back.
No they can not!
