A knocking sound in the front end when applying the brakes can be caused by several issues, including worn brake pads, loose or damaged brake components, or failing suspension parts such as control arms or bushings. Additionally, if the brake calipers are not securely mounted or if there is excessive play in the wheel hub, it can lead to a knocking noise. It's essential to have the braking and suspension systems inspected by a professional to identify and address the underlying cause. Ignoring this issue can lead to more significant safety concerns.
Check for a worn or warped break rotor on the front driver side. You may need to replace the break pads and rotor.
The friction caused by the brakes causes the car to decelerate. This negative acceleration, in turn, causes a force to be applied to all those in the car. This is the lurch you feel.
They are equipped with a "telltale" warning that shrieks when the brakes are applied, with the brake pads are too low and need replacing.
They are warm because the friction makes the molecules in the brakes move faster, which causes it to warm up.
because the alignment is off Warped or out of round brake rotors/drums.
apply your brakes gently while accelerating at the same time
Check the brake fluid reservoir, it may be low on brake fluid indicating it is time to have the brakes inspected.
One possiblity could be the power brake booster is shot. When you apply the brakes it creates a large vacuum leak, enough to stall engine.
Worn bushes or warped brake rotor. Replace faulty item.
The chindeseems lost in rotor grooves, which is probably affecting the cornerstones. Replace all, and grease with malnigrain fir further ease of contraction. Hope this helps. Dennis
Time for new brakes or adjustment.
I assume that you have rear drum brake. If so, the knocking sound which happens only when apply the brake is more likely cause by an out-of-round drum. Take your car back to the mechanic that installed them. This problem is not bound to go away.
